What Clinicians Are Saying

Another OT recommend the OpalAir, and after a few weeks my clients pressure injuries began to heal. The client found the surface to be quiet and comfortable.

Andrea

OT, Alberta Health Services

We have a resident with advanced dementia and a Stage 3 coccyx wound that was not healing. After transitioning to the OpalAir, the wound showed significant improvement in just a few weeks and is now fully healed. The OpalAir surface is easy for our clinicians to use and remains a reliable solution in long-term care.

Jia

LTC OT, Fraser Health

The OpalAir Surface is incredibly easy to use. Auto-Fowler feature is a huge advantage, automatically adjusting when the head of the bed is raised - allowing us to focus on patient care. The Alternating Pressure Therapy is quiet, effective, and a game-changer in reducing caregiver workload.

Clinical Features

Alternating Pressure Therapy

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to enhance pressure redistribution and promote blood flow to high-risk tissues allowing greater oxygenation and healing. 'SmoothCell' technology facilitates gentle cell movement and ensures clients remain stable and unaffected by the surface movement.

True Low Air Loss Therapy

True Low Air Loss Therapy

Continuous high air flow controls microclimate (temperature and humidity) suitable to promote wound healing. Promotion of skin strength and integrity through reduced moisture buildup.

Auto-Detect Technology

Auto-Detect Technology

Auto-Detect technology automatically calibrates optimal pressure based on bodyweight and surface area. This improves the efficiency of set-up, reducing the need for on-going caregiver adjustments.

Other Clinical Features

Auto-Fowler

Automatic increase of air to the sacral/pelvic area when the bedhead is raised, to reduce risk of bottoming-out and ensure protection for high-risk bony areas.

HeelOffload

Four lower-profile cells at the heel section allow deeper immersion of the bony prominences — reducing peak pressure and the risk of heel pressure injuries.

Bariatric Mode

Boosts pump output to maintain proper support and comfort for heavier clients.

8" Surface Depth

Designed for use with homecare and hospital beds and side rails.

StaticPillow

Motionless head section to promote head and neck positioning and reduce potential disturbance to the client.

SmoothCell

Cells alternate slowly and keep clients at a level height, remaining stable and unaffected by surface movement.

EasyCover

Cover easily removed for cleaning/disinfecting and can be laundered. Ease of cleaning ensures infection protection.

Low Noise Pump

Quiet pump decreases irritation and promotes a desirable sleep environment.

Auto-Firm

Inflates cells to maximum for caregiver management; auto-returns to therapy mode after 20 minutes.

Therapeutic Modes

Alternating Pressure Therapy
1

Alternating Pressure Therapy

1-in-3 air cells gently inflate and deflate to safely offload pressure while maintaining body contact. SmoothCell design reduces shear and friction.

Pulsate Therapy
2

Pulsate Therapy

Promotes increased capillary blood flow, enhancing circulation and oxygenation delivery to compromised tissues for wound healing.

Constant Low Pressure (CLP)
3

Constant Low Pressure (CLP)

Air cells maintain lower pressure for greater body immersion — promotes pressure redistribution and reduction of peak pressures. For frail, palliative, or hypersensitive clients unable to tolerate cell movement.
