Multi-use lap and upper-extremity support for midline positioning in seated and lying positions (NTG05)

The Lagoon Cushion provides versatile upper-extremity support in seated and lying positions. Placed on the lap, it supports the shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands in a neutral, midline position and can promote functional upper-extremity movement in a wheelchair, recliner, or upright in bed. By reducing the effects of gravity, it can also support clients with shoulder subluxation and associated pain. The Lagoon can provide pelvic and trunk support during active sitting at the bedside or on a commode. For smaller clients, it can improve stability and alignment in a large or unsupportive chair. In prone, it can support the thorax and reduce pressure on internal organs. Its shape can also assist with neck positioning for clients with reduced head control, fractures, or intubation. The cushion’s weight and stability may provide calming sensory input for clients experiencing agitation.
